Censeo Executives Speak at Rollins College
Censeo’s CEO and CFO Address Collegiate
Entrepreneurs’ Organization.
March 9, 2006
WINTER PARK, FL – Censeo Corporation President
and CEO Dr. Ronald H. Gross and CFO Michael Kazazis addressed
students today at Rollins College on the subject of transitioning
from the corporate environment to a small business/start-up.
Their presentation was made to the Rollins Collegiate Entrepreneurs’ Organization (CEO) as part of their ongoing lecture series
in which area entrepreneurs engage students in an effort to
open their eyes to the challenges and opportunities in the
world of entrepreneurship.
Laura MacFee, a full-time graduate student and Chief Communications
Officer for Rollins CEO, felt the topic was well received.
“This event helped our members to understand the differences
in working for a large corporation versus a small, entrepreneurial
start-up. By drawing on their experiences in both areas, Mr.
Kazazis and Mr. Gross offered students a personal perspective
on the challenges and opportunities involved in working for
a small, entrepreneurial start-up. The advice and insight
they shared will prove to be quite valuable as students begin
to think about the type of company they wish to join.”
Dr. Gross also offered advice to those finding themselves
working in a larger company but desiring an entrepreneurial
environment. “Working in a larger corporation offers
an individual many opportunities to build up a tool-kit of
experiences that they’ll find extremely valuable in starting
a company,” Gross explained. “Proactively seek out
and learn from mentors in different areas of the company.
Learn about processes that can be applied to a smaller company
as it grows, especially financial controls and decision making,” he advised.
“Individuals should pay specific attention to things
that don’t work well in the larger organization, and try to
understand why,” added Kazazis.
