Censeo Announces Significant Technology Upgrades

March 2003
ORLANDO, FL – Censeo Corporation announced that it has significantly upgraded its technology infrastructure for censeo-online.com, the platform for the firm’s integrated suite of assessment products. The upgrades involve three main components – a new colocation facility/Internet service provider (ISP), increased bandwidth, and additional hardware to increase capacity.

Dikesh Chokshi, Censeo’s CTO, explained the impetus for the upgrades. “We’ve experienced tremendous growth over the past year in terms of new Web based products, the number of companies using our platform, and the total number of assessments completed each day.” Chokshi further explained, “We continuously monitor our data center in terms of performance and anticipated future volume, and proactively take action long before any client experiences a degradation in service levels. In this case, we moved our data center to a new ISP, quadrupled our Internet bandwidth, and significantly increased our hardware capacity.”

Censeo’s new colocation partner is Atlantic.Net, which manages a 25,000 square foot facility in Orlando, FL. The company provides “carrier neutral” service, meaning that it offers multiple link access to several major Internet providers – including Level 3 Communications, Time Warner Telecom, BellSouth, and Sprint – rather than relying on just one provider. As a tier-one ISP, Atlantic.Net ensures power availability through redundant systems, temperature and humidity control, security, and constant monitoring. Censeo’s hardware upgrades include additional servers in a networked “server farm,” new hardware redundancies, and 1GB networking.

“We look at everything from our clients’ perspective,” said Jim Higgins, Censeo’s VP of Sales and Marketing. “They all want three basic things. First, our assessment products must be easy to use, they must have great functionality, and they must work exactly as they’re supposed to. We accomplish these things by building, and then carefully testing, products which meet our clients’ needs. Second, our site should always be available when a user logs in. And third, our site should be very fast, with minimal wait time. Our recent upgrades will ensure we meet those last two conditions as we continue to position Censeo as the leader in the technology based assessment marketplace.”
